A New Beginning.

21 06 2007

On May 7th and 8th, Jazmine began her first day at work for J Records, with Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry in a writing session @ The Studio in Philadelphia, PA. Not giving away too many details, two songs were recorded and one of the records reminded me of the theme music from Quentin Tarantino’s film Kill Bill. Imagine that coupled with Jazmine’s soulful voice and the outcome is a crazy record! Like always, she is killing the track, the lyrics make sense and the song is definitely album potential. I’m looking forward to hearing what Jazmine comes up with as some producers who have been mentioned wanting to contribute to the project include the incredible Salaam Remi (Lauryn Hill, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse), Cool & Dre, and James Poyser to name a few. It’s time for a new artist to give the world an album that they can relate to irregardless of musical preferences, race or any other perceived differences that we as people tend to focus on. A change is gonna come…

I’m still really feeling Jazmine’s version of “Prototype” in London (Live). And know what would be a great collabo… Jazmine Sullivan and Emily King! That just might really happen, label mates, plus connections with Marsha. I can see it.

I knew Jaziman was like that the first time I ever heard her voice. I recorded 2 songs with Jaziman at Sigma Studio in Philly. “I Dream” and another song about a lost little girl triing to find her way in the world. They were the best songs I ever produced hands down. Jaziman”s Harmonies are like no other. Not to mention she was only 16 or 17 years old at the time. Jaziman, Keep on doing your thang Boo.

Hello. First let me say that I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to post here. Jazmine Sullivan is a true artist and her music moves me to the core. I have a question. There are several tracks that have been available for listening to on YouTube, for example, “Wrong Day”, “L.O.V.E.”, and “Smile”. I would like to purchase the album that these tracks are on, but I can not seem to find any information about it. I am very much looking forward to purchasing her new album “Fearless” that will be available in mid September. I would like to have a collection of all her music. Any information someone could provide about her first album would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you, Jenna.

As a striving, independent artist; I am filled with great pride in seeing that an artist in the caliber of Jazmine Sullivan, bringing soul-music back to the mainstream! I She inspires me into believing that that I can be successful without compromising my artistic integrity!

I loved this young lady’s vocal improvocation the very first time that I heard it… She embodies what has been seriously lacking in black music for a long time; soul, integrity, talent, melody and true musicianship! I wish this diva nothing but GREAT success!
